Thanks for the pics. I've loved that area (Canadian Rockies) since my first trip there as a kid. I haven't ridden there on a bike. Yet!

An alternative on the way back would be to turn west at Castle Junction just before Lake Louise. It takes you thru Kootenay Nat Park to Radium Hot Springs. Turn south at Radium and head to Cranbrook. From there you can run to the Flathead and continue your trip.

We've been to Banff and Jasper once, but we've to Glacier four times.

Twice, we were near Cut Bank, MT, riding in a downpour in 42 degree weather and that was in July/August!

In 2010, we took another couple with us and just about an hour east Of Cut Bank we hit a little hail storm!

Very beautiful country up there, just be sure to take your leathers and rain gear.

Any suggestions for a rainy day in Canmore?
Looks like you had a great ride. This is an old thread, I could have suggested a few things to see around Canmore if I'd seen this thread back in 2011.

Suggest them now.
I may be with a group heading that way from Kville TN in July/August 2014.

+1 on that we will be in glacier in August 2014 with plenty of time and thinking about going up to Jasper then down into Idaho
