Default Hyder, Alaska

This past summer I rode solo from Phoenix, Arizona to Hyder, Alaska. I did the entire round trip in 11 days. Incredible scenery through Alberta, British Columbia, and Alaska.

Ten days later I left for Sturgis with two other riders. We visited Yellowstone on the way back, and made stops in Carson City, Nevada and Southern California.

I rode a total of 14,600 miles during a 30 day period.

I can't wait for the next trip.

That must have quite an adventure.
Any mechanical issues?

I had no mechanical issues. My bike was still new. I just had my 5,000 mile maintenance completed. The only thing that worried me was the rear tire. It was very worn by the time I got home. I changed out both tires between Alaska and Sturgis.

I did not complete a journal. When I left for Alaska, I had no definitive plans. Just head north and work my way to Hyder. I stayed in motels all the way there and back, but was prepared to camp if necessary. I had no set time lines. The Phoenix to Hyder to Phoenix trip took 11 total days. On most days, I took advantage of the virtually unlimited sunlight and rode 700 plus miles per day. I'm not much of a picture taker. I only took a few on my trip to Alaska. I took a few more during the Sturgis trip. I will create an album in the next couple of days to display a few of my photos.

Default Alaska trip

How were the road conditions in Alaska? Always wanted to do a trip there but heard the roads were horrible and hard on a bike. Thanks, sounds like you had a great time.
