I have a business trip in Atlanta next month and I am thinking of riding there from Fl space coast. I do not want to ride highways. Does anyone have any suggestions?
When you say highways, do you mean all highways? Or do you just mean the interstates?
If you want to avoid the interstates, do you also want to avoid all divided highways and only use 2 lane highways?
Did you know that interstates are safer than other roads?
I meant no interstate. I have travelled I 75 and I 95 so many times. Driving a 75 mph for 7 hrs is not my idea of an enjoyable ride. I would prefer to take my time on slower more scenic roads.
Take 441N out of Lake City Fl to Athens Ga.Then cut across to Atl.
441 is some 2 lane and some 4 lane but not very busy.It is the way
me and mama ride to Fl from Tn.
Couple of years ago I went from Atlanta to Daytona. Set the GPS on the shortest route possible and took off! I have lived North of Atlanta for a long time and I did not realize the great riding down the middle of Georgia.
Any way I took HWY 1 from Jacksonville, Florida to Alama, Georgia.
From Alama to McRae. At McRae I took Hwy 23 up to Macon. Plenty of hotels on the way and family own restaurants. Also many different ways to come up from Macon. Any road north of Interstate 16 is great.
