Default Campground suggestions FL

Planning a little camping trip this weekend on the scoot and was wondering if you guy's had any good campground suggestions.. I like secluded relaxing sites for the most part and would like to have access to water.
Starting in St. Pete and would like to keep the travel around 3 hours so I was thinking Ocala but open for suggestions. This is prob just going to be a 1 nt trip.
Some of the parks I'm considering are:
Juniper Springs
Alexander Springs
Allittle further is Suwannee River Park.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I have not stayed in the Ocala National Forest in years, that being said, I'd pass on Juniper Springs, truthfully I'd pass on camping in the forest entirely. Like I said, it has been many years, but those times I did stay, well they just felt--hinkey--
Head north on 19 and go to Cedar Key. Campgrounds there that rival the state prices and you get the water. Just north is Chiefland, (Manatee Springs), a little further and you get Fanning Springs, both on the Suwannee.
Suwannee Springs is a nice place too, but I'd pick a trip up US 19 first. All of this is MY OPINION. YMMV
HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE
If you go 19 check out the Ozello Trail. It's Florida's "Tail Of The Dragon," and it has a good restaurant at the end
Also, the "back road", from Cedar Key to Chiefland has some decent "twisties" for Florida

Thanks for the info. Is there a certain campground you suggest in Cedar Key? I'll be tent camping if that matters. Did a quick search and didn't see many. The ride up 19 sounds like a good idea, would like to check out ozello trail.

Won't reccommend. but a quick search brings up: Rainbow Country RV Campground 352-543-6268. Looks decent, fair price. Used to be a b&b downtown that allowed tents and sleeping bags in garage. Should be plenty of options.
Look at the map. Campsites in following towns up 19: Weeki Wachee, Homosassa, Crystal River, Ingles, Yankee Town, Otter Springs, Chiefland, Fanning...etc. They call it The Nature Coast, and it's in your back yard! Enjoy! I don't want to sound like a brochure, I lived there for 25 years and I can't wait to get back..It's about all that is left of "the real Florida."
Have Fun!

I'm headed off to work, so if I don't reply I just want to tell you to not underestimate the Ozello Trail. It ain't the Dragon but it can be dangerous. Lots of sugar sand and, depending on the tide, if you overshoot you might get wet! It's a nice ride and with anything, stay alert and watch out for the cages.

If you have any furhter questions, shoot me a pm
