Campground suggestions FL
Starting in St. Pete and would like to keep the travel around 3 hours so I was thinking Ocala but open for suggestions. This is prob just going to be a 1 nt trip.
Some of the parks I'm considering are:
Juniper Springs
Alexander Springs
Allittle further is Suwannee River Park.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Head north on 19 and go to Cedar Key. Campgrounds there that rival the state prices and you get the water. Just north is Chiefland, (Manatee Springs), a little further and you get Fanning Springs, both on the Suwannee.
Suwannee Springs is a nice place too, but I'd pick a trip up US 19 first. All of this is MY OPINION. YMMV
HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE
If you go 19 check out the Ozello Trail. It's Florida's "Tail Of The Dragon," and it has a good restaurant at the end
Also, the "back road", from Cedar Key to Chiefland has some decent "twisties" for Florida

Look at the map. Campsites in following towns up 19: Weeki Wachee, Homosassa, Crystal River, Ingles, Yankee Town, Otter Springs, Chiefland, Fanning...etc. They call it The Nature Coast, and it's in your back yard! Enjoy! I don't want to sound like a brochure, I lived there for 25 years and I can't wait to get back..It's about all that is left of "the real Florida."
Have Fun!
