Four days! Got the trailer finished, gonna give the girl one more rub down and a partial load-up tomarrow so I don't have to screw with it wednesday evening. On the road Thursday!
Like you, Al... I gave the Ultra a cleaning today. Also got the hot water tank installed (had a slow leak). Trying to finish up the chores I need to have finished before D (Departure) Day!!
Extended weather forecast AT THIS MOMENT indicates some good riding weather on the way and once there! We're keeping our fingers crossed!
I'm looking at riding the rockies this summer. Preferably like July though. What are the top 5 stops that are a must?
The plan right now is to ride up to around Denver from Austin, ride through the Rockies coming down the west side, and mozy through Santa Fe to see my sister. Thought maybe I'd go through Roswell and look for UFO's and all. Then see if I can't find my way back to Austin....

I haven't been to Colorado since 76. I'll let you know when I get back. 36 hours!
We made it to Childress, TX, 494 miles. This cold beer tastes GOOD. I think this is the first time I had to wear a jacket at the end of May in Texas. I finally took it off about lunch. There was a cold front that came through last night. On to pueblo tomarrow.
We are in Alburquerque. We left Grand Junction this morning, went down the "Million Dollar Highway", stopped in Durango HD and got a couple of T's.
While we were in Grande Junction, we experienced the worst weather Colorado has to offer. Hurricane force winds, a dust storm, falling snow and when we got up this morning, it was 40 degrees, but at least the wind calmed down. A person could easily become a wino drunk in that town, with all of the wineries and distilleries they have there. I gave up after hitting four of them.
New Mexico sucks. No roadside parks, at least on US 550, and no safe place to pull over and get some good pictures of the mesas or take a wiz.
The scooter is running good and am having a good time.
