We have been offered a HD bike to ride during our trip to the UK on June 6th. BUT no-one can offer us short term insurance (even as an add on to the owners insurance) unless we are actually renting a bike. Bizarre! has anyone done the house/bike exchange vacation and if so how did you handle the insurance issue?

did the same thing in 2008.....You open a new policy on the bike, when you get back from the trip you cancel the policy. It cost me a total of 60 pound, about $100.
