Milwaukee Bound
I read this thread about places to eat....Any others? I like a good meal and don't mind paying a little extra if its good.
Sobelman's on Clybourn west of downtown is a nice old school bar/burger joint - great burgers. Sunday is bike day
Lake Park Bistro just off Lake Drive in the east side is very nice. Great views of the lake and great food. A little spendy but not outrageous. White linen, wine, etc..
Conejitos is a local favorite for cheap Mexican food. Right across the street from the Iron Horse. (which doesn't have great food imo and the beer prices are crazy - beautiful hotel tho)
Nankusa is a sushi place in the 3rd ward. Sushi is decent if not a little over priced, but the area is cool. Park near the restaurant and stroll the 3rd ward on Broadway. Lots of nice places to have a drink.
La Miranda on 2nd and National is a Tapas place. Killer Irish Car bomb cake made with Guiness.
Bike night at the museum is Thursday nights as mentioned by the OP. Also on Thursday night is Jazz on the Park downtown. They never actually seem to play jazz but it's an outdoor music venue that is popular with the locals. I'm not into it, but might be worth a look. Carolines is a real jazz club very close to the Iron Horse. Definitely worth a visit.
That should be a good start for you. Enjoy Milwaukee - it's a great city with lots to do.
