That's the dates for the "Cruisin' the Coast" rally which has been moved for this year. Unless I'm mistaken (because I think there is a difference), the "official" Myrtle Beach Bike Week is still May 11-20 and, while it is a week later than previous years, those dates have remained unchanged since late last year.

Crusin the coast is put on by MB Harley and is the real bike week, myrtlebeachbikeweek is just a website that somebody set up for info on bike week. I have been here 13 years & over 30 MB bike weeks.. When MB Harley says bike week is moved, it is they run the whole damn thing.. The newspaper & other "websites" are saying 11-20 and there will be bikers here but no vendors......

Ah... that makes sense. I'd just never heard of MBBW referred to as the Cruisin' the Coast rally. Thanks for clearing that up. Being that the dates have changed, I might actually be able to go this year. BTW, which do you prefer now days - the north end or south end as far as stuff to do? Back before things went south with the rally, I used to stay at the Landmark Resort and it seemed like most of the good stuff was concentrated on the south end (i.e. from the Harley dealership down to SBB).

No problem, it has throw all of us for a loop. I love it all, the south has more going on, but the north(barefoot landing) has better vendors(I am a product *****) but it is all fun times..
I own a local business downtown(parking lot) MB and I hope Bikers will come back to the city.. Most of the boycott has passed but people don't understand that you are not hurting the city(they just built a 7 million dollar boardwalk) you are hurting the local guy(me) when you avoid the city. I also charge anybody on a cycle(that is year round) $1 vs $10 for cars.
I love Bikeweek and this year is going to be insane.. If you are thinking about coming? please do, it will be a record breaker

After the 110th Anniversary in Sept 2013 we are going to go to Virginia and ride the Blue Ridge to Smokey Mountain Natl. Park and do the Dragon before we head home.

got in contact with the organizer of myrtle beach bike week today and permits have only been issued to myrtle beach bike week. Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson is still just getting a lot of folks confused and making a lot of people upset and hasnt been issued any permits yet. This is from the horry county web site.
I was wanting to know when to come down. HD of MB is just shooting blanks right now. besides they were not in business in 1940. how could they claim the 72 annual rally.

OK? who is the organizer of bike week? I have never heard of this position? What do they organize? If this person is real he/she is not doing a good job of letting locals know that it is not moved... When it does get mentioned on the news it is always about people being upset about the dates being moved.. 99% of the vendors are not in horry county they are on the south end which is Georgetown county. The only horry vendors are in Barefoot landing and behind Harley shop.. I don't think they issue the permits until right before the rally anyway.. But to throw more madness in, I went to Kuryakyn's website & they are coming down 11-19 so..??? Like I said before it is a big damn mess.. That is why we are doing the tail trip on the 6th so we will be back in case it is during 11-19.... not sure how the claim works but I will check around...I will try and keep people posted... When you go to MBHD website and click on springrally this letter pops up
