in two years i want to take my bike to italy for a couple months during the early summer. hog has given me some ideas on freight costs. im looking for any suggestions out here on other options. also whats the line on exhaust issues (noise) if any, there has got to be.
i dont have an answer for that but i hope you get some replies from somebody that does know cuz i was wondering the same thing. wanted to take mine to germany/italy. what kind of shipping rates did you get? i didnt try through hog but i got some estimates for like 2000 1 way maybe a little under 4 round trip. thats a little steep but for a once in a lifetime trip and if you have a passenger to help pay at least some of it..who knows.

One thing you want to check is your bike insurance. Your US cover won't be valid and if Italy is the same as UK then insurers will not cover a bike not registered in Italy.
A cheaper option might be to just buy one and sell it at the end of your holiday, with what it would cost to ship or even rent one you could afford to take a hit on resale and still be ahead! Just a thought.
