Stayed at Lamphere last year, fair amount of shade, small general store, decent showers, they also serve food although I was there a few days before the rally so the kitchen wasn't up and running yet. All in all seemed like a nice place. One nice thing about it is you could walk to the FTS if you wanted to, about 1/4 mi or take a shuttle. Cops are everywhere on the main drag so not having to ride your bike thru them after having a few beers is a good thing. Another decent place is Creekside CG, 1/2 mi north on 79.
We've stayed here for a number of years and will be there again this year. Great place, low cost, nice people, decent food, clean facilities and a nice store. Nothing fancy, but clean, efficient and comfortable.
Very quiet place for those who want an opportunity to get away from the noise for a while. If you want all night partying you might want to choose somewhere else . . .
This pic is from sturgis '010 when I stayed at Lamphere. It's a great spot in my opinion. Walking distance to the Full Throttle, I really liked that. Other campgrounds have busses and shuttles that run on a fixed schedule. I'd rather come and go on my schedule.
They have the standard ammenities, hot showers, 3 meals/day, friendly staff. I'll stay there again next time I do sturgis.
