Check out Mt. Lemmon. I've been up there by car a couple times while visiting Tucson and it was a beautiful ride, always hoped to get up there on a bike someday. Usually have lunch at the Mt. Lemmon Cafe. If you do go,dress warm it gets pretty cold at 9000ft!
We'll be heading through Tuscon in May and spending the night in Tombstone. Next day will be riding the Coronado Trail into Springersville. It US 191 (used to be called the Devils Highway) and many consider it one of the best roads to ride in AZ, so you may want to check it out.
The 191 ride is awesome. Come on down to Tombstone and into Bisbee on the way there.
He's going in 2 weeks. That might be a little early for the Devil's Hwy., or Mt. Lemon. They are probably still skiing at Mt. Lemon. Springerville, Alpine, Hennigan's Meadow and such will probably still be in the upper 20's or low 30's at night.
I would go to Tombstone, Bisbee, Desert Museum, and old Tucson for sure.
a little loop east of town thru Marana on Picture Rocks Rd to the Saguaro Natl Park/Old Tucson/Desert Zoo and back over the mountain via Gates Pass is nice. If the wife likes the art stuff a trip down to Tubac would be in order also.

I was thinking the same thing. The last time I rode Mt. Lemmon was in May a couple of years ago, and while the roads were clear, there was still several feet of snow up there.
I may be hi jacking this thread but I see your going to be going to Tucson in a few weeks. I am going to rent from Tucson Harley and hope to do some riding around that area come March 3rd. I am going with my fiance to visit some fiends in Tucson. Never been there, never rented a Harley before and not getting much info from the forum in regards to anyone wanting to help out a little. Maybe because I planned this trip twice now but I did not make it due to other issues.
Anyway I would very much like to check the area out. I am still wondering if renting from the Tucson dealer has been a negative or great experience or if someone could check this out for me. Maybe meet us for a ride...show us around. Friends do have a bike but they may be working for most of our stay.
Sorry for the rant but I saw this to be a great opportunity to jump on the band wagon.
