I've stayed at church camps, and lots of other places. Just park either out of sight or in plane view. Camp the same way, in view or out of sight.
I've also used golf ****ry blind for a hot shower. Just walk in the bar order a sandwich and a drink, and go find the locker room.

I suppose out west this might work OK, but on the east coast most of the land is private property and I wouldn't sleep well wondering if I was going to get a visit from a landowner in the middle of the night. Besides, there are plenty of places to camp in state parks, national forests, or even commercial campgrounds.

We used to throw our bedrolls down under overpasses. No one bothered us til daybreak when a trooper would give us a gentle wake-up call with his siren and loudspeaker telling us it was illegal to sleep there. Only got ticketed once (Indiana).

Yes,

Natl forests,parks,fed land, state land...etc...etc
you just have to pick a good spot...

Sometimes even boat lauch areas, river access.. fisherman do it with pick up campers trailers etc

sometimes you're not the only one there

I have found some pretty good ones over the yrs

http://freecampsites.net/

search for "stealth camping", free camping, boondocking,

I live in OZ but did over 10,000 miles around the US last year including from the east coast to LA and later from LA to Sturgis and back and other than staying at the homes of some generous hosts I met on this forum, sleeping under the stars next to my bike was my only accommodation. Only time I got shaken out of my sleep by the LEOs was in Roswell NM and they gave me a homeless voucher to cash in at a local motel where I had TV and a shower. Not real clean, but my bedroll on the bed was fine. Will be back in June to start another ride from NJ to New England, to Sturgis then Ft Lauderdale and will finally make my way back to LA then home to Aust. My trusty swag(bedroll) which contains a mattress and sleeping bag will follow me all the way. Pics attached.
I note cayres who posted #2 on this thread has never heard of it. "Hey Cecil, Your loungeroom floor was one of the few nights I spent indoors and was treated to a shower. You followed me on the forum all across the US. Man you've gotta start wearing a helmet. See you in September Buddy".

And I'm not too proud to tell you I do it to save $$$. When I go to bed on my own I go to sleep. When I'm asleep I don't know whether I'm in the Hilton or in the cornfield. Happy to keep the Hundred Dollars to spend on something I know about like my fuel.

Did a fair amount of stealth camping in my younger days, usually careful to keep a low profile, back on the road at dawn. Never had any problems.
