Brings back memories.
I still have two sleeping bags but I doubt that I'll ever use them as my wife absolutely refuses to camp.
However, never say never!
I'll always remember the time on our way back from Florida that we (me and 2 cousins) decided to return home via the coast and the BRP.
We were in Kitty Hawk, NC (Outer Banks) late in the evening and the campground guy put us right on the beach.
We had to take turns hold each other's bike while the others went looking for pieces of wood to put under our kickstands so the bikes wouldn't fall over.
Our tent stakes were useless in the sand so we ended up securing the tent lines to our three bikes and the picnic table to keep it from blowing away.
It's had to belive that sand can penetrate a tent but it does!
THe following morning, we actually had to "de-sand" out tent, sleeping bags, our clothes and ourselves.
After a morning shower, we pulled the air cleaners off of our bike and cleaned them out too!
Yeah, for 40 bucks a night...for that price I could have a decent room with a queen size bed and a private shower...air conditioning or heat if needed...just sayin'....
$40 a night for a room here in Alaska would mean your in a CRACKHOUSE!
