its easier then you think...i have a 2 man backpacking tent from cabelas, packback sleeping bag, bed roll, stove ect....i use the water proof stuff compression stuff sacs and my tent, sleeping bag, bed roll all fit into 1. and all my other gear in another one. its a little pricey but without the back packing stuff, its very difficult. i can take enough gear to travel the country less big food items that i pick up when i get to where i am staying. cabelas and rei are both cheap if you hit the sales.
