Default Questions for Eastern rides

Wife and I are going to Charleston via a distorted two lane path, Missouri/Illinois super slab to TN, Nashville to knoxville on US 70(Lebanon, Sparta, Kingston TN), thru GSMNP out of Gatlinburg, Asheville via US 19 from Cherokee and then US25 to Aiken? to Charleston. Return is via Snellville(Atlanta) GA and Chattanooga to Lynchburg(JackD's) then home to Missouri. Any off the radar sights to visit? any recommends different from the above roads? Wife does NOT want to do the Tail of the Dragon, scares her sh_tless to think on, any ideas appreciated!!!

How much time do you want to spend traveling from Asheville to Aiken? Is Aiken a must stop? How much time do you want to spend from Aiken to Charleston?

Thanks so far, had kinda planned on the Parkway but was not originally a 'do', now is as long as weather allows. As to Asheville/Aiken/Charleston, may only have a day for the cruise, just wanting to stay off the super slabs as much as possible, actually enjoy perusing some of the old cities along the old routes. Mainly looking for the odd sights most would not ever see.

Here is my recommendation,
take route 215 of the BRP to 178 stay on 178 until it turns into 78 continue on 78 until you hit I26 at exit 205. At that point you will in north charleston.
This is all back roads and great alternative to I26.
