Want to take the wife for Three Sisters ride weekend after Jul 4th. Any recommendations for hotel/motel/cabins around Leaky area? Prefer something near the river..

Okay thanks, but Koyote Ranch is not in Leakey and believe D'Rose Inn not on the river...

There are tons of cabins for rent around Leaky. Unfortunately most of them don't want motorcycles at the units near the water, but you can find one close to the hwy and walk down. Try the "Bend of the River". Nice cabins, reasonably priced.

We stayed just outside of Kerrville in Ingram last weekend, we stayed at River Oaks Lodge. A great round trip is to leave Ingram on 39 and cross the river about 6 times to Leakey. Then do the Three Sisters and come back to Kerrville on the southeast side via 337, that was as good or better a ride then the Three Sisters!

taygull: So your route was basically 39 west to 83s then did you go west on RR 337to Camp Wood and then North on RR 335, east 41, south RR336 and then east on 337 to Vanderpool. Or did you go North on RR335, west 41, south 335, east 337 all way back thru Leakey and Vanderpool?

Thanks for all the inputs everyone

Yes, I went 39 to 83S. Stopped at a BBQ joint at 337 (great smoked boudin) and took 337 to Camp Wood to 55 North to 335 to 41 went back east to 336 South and took that back to the BBQ joint and then took 337 out of town towards Vanderpool for the ride back to Kerrville. I wish I had brought swim trunks, when you get close to Kerrville there are some great "swimming holes" where quite a few people pull over and hang out in the cool river at some bridge crossings.

We just booked a tent site in Garner State park for next weekend. I hope they don't mind bikes.
