Default 2012 Road Trip Help

The Mrs and I will be Leaving home on the 28th of sept and headed for the VA end of the Blue Ridge parkway. The second leg we will be folowing the parkway down to Laurel Spring Area. On the third leg we will continue on the parkway to Cherokee to spend a few days riding down there before heading to Nashville for 2 days. One of the days we will be taking a day trip up to Franklin , Ky to have lunch at a BBQ joint. After that the 5th leg will take us over to Memphis, West Memphis then on to Greneda for the night. The 6th leg we will visit Vicksburg, Baton Rouge, finishing up in New Orleans for the next 2 days. The 7th leg we will travel thru Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola, and end in Fort Walton Beach. Our 8th leg will take us along the gulf coastline following 98/319 thru Tallahasse and ending in Waycross. Along the 9th leg we will be visiting St.Mary's Navel yard then up to Savanagh via rt 17 for two nights. For the 10 leg we will continue on rt 17 north to charleston and on to Myrtle Beach for 2 nights. 11th leg we will follow rt 17 north to Jacksonville where we will then hit rt 24 to Morehead City. The 12th leg we will be traveling by ferry to Ocracoke Island and the again a ferry to Hatteras ending our day by traveling up rt 12 to Kitty Hawk for the next 2 days. Our 13 leg has us traveling thru Dismil Swamp an on to Williamsburg for the night. Our last leg we will be headed up around Richmond, Washington, Baltimore and then Home. The total mileage should be around 4300, in 20 days, we have booked all our hotels and are excited about this years trip.

If anyone has any suggestions on places to get great food along the way would be a help. Not looking for the normal tourist trap places that are overpriced, but the good old fashion home cooked friendly places that you would take family from out of town.

For Shi-s and Giggles if you see us along the way please say hi or leave a post here. After all not many trailers like ours will be on the road......

Two way fish camp just North of Brunswick,Ga South of Darien on 17..

Grouper Sandwich....can't pass it up.
Cant miss the sign before the Bridge at the marina.

Coming from Waycross Rt 82 to Rt 99 to bypass Brunswick, it will cross 95 at Exit 42 then go 17 for 2-3 mile so the Two Way Fish camp or you can just pick up 17 Cross the Bridge, for St. simons island, (lighthouse area) is nice but a little traffic will be an issue

River st. in Savannah if you get a chnace, When you cross the Bridge into SC take 315 , 170 to beaufort, then 21 ,, kinda of an alternate / direct route to Charleston instead of going out to 95. It will tie back in just N of Parris Island marine station
