1,000 miles. almost.

had to de-stress so i left santa monica, ca on sunday morning at about 8a. took the 10 to 177 to 95 to 40 then jumped on route 66 in kingman, az to seligman then back to kingman via 40 and spent the night. left kingman at 6a and back to los angeles for a 1p meeting today. the way out was nice. desert was hot, 105 -109, but that stretch of route 66 from kingman to seligman was worth it. riding back in to los angeles on a monday morning erased all the calm. round trip was 998 miles. and damn if i don't keep hitting the same spine-jarring pot hole on 40 west right around the cross mtn road exit. i think that's 3 times in a year.

Pothole notwithstanding, sounds like a great way to ease the tension from the California lifestyle. Keep riding that tract until you miss that pothole!

thanks for the suggestion BuzzCap7. i'm going to do it. maybe within the next 2 weeks. looking at palm springs to durango co to santa fe nm for 1,000+. if i'm feeling good it's another 500 miles to kingman, az. i'm psyched.
