Default Another Pigeon Forge lunch ride

The weather was so nice here in NW Ga. on Saturday we thought we'd go back to the smokies for a nice ride again. Heck it was well into the fifties and the sun was a shinin. We lit out about 12:00. A little late to be going because it's about 7 hours round trip and it really starts cooling off when the sun goes down. On the way my brothers slip on slipped off and we had to pull over, and no sooner had we stopped when a fella pulled right in behind us and asked if we needed any tools. He loaned us a wrench and the slipped off slip on got retightened and we were on our way. Mighty nice of him to stop and offer his help. He said he was a rider and knew how it was.We weren't on the road for half an hour before we spotted another biker on the side of the road and stopped to see if we could help him but his bike was still running on one cylinder and he said he could make it home in about 10 minutes and he took off. Even tho it was 52 degrees by the time we got to PF I was cold son of a gun. We ate a nice lunch and when we got ready to go we slipped our rain gear on over our jackets and chaps and that really helped keep that sharp wind out from under the jackets. All I had on was a t shirt and jeans with chaps and a Fox Creek jacket. The rain gear really helped. I was much warmer when I got home at 7:00 than I was when we got to PF. Saw several bikes on the road but nowhere near as many as you normally would on a nice summer day. I know a lot of you folks from other parts of the country where it really gets cold would kill for some of this 50 degree weather and I agree we have it pretty lucky here, but it was still pretty chilly on the bikes. As I'm typing this this morning it is 18 degrees and expected high of 39 or 40 today. The warm weather saturday was kind of a fluke but we do have a few of those nice days thrown in from time to time and we take advantage of them when we can. Had the camera with us but didn't take one picture. If you're ever in Pigeon Forge give the Bullfish Grill a try, I'm sure you can find something there you'll like. Here I am sitting waitng on another warm day for another nice ride. ya'll have fun and try to stay warm and dry. Stafford

Invest in some heated gear. It is money well spent.

BTW, I love the Pidgeon Forge/G'Burg thing. It's a couple of hours from us. We go down there several times a year.

We always go to the spring and fall grand run in PF and spend a few days. If they're not having the hotrods there I tend to stay away except for the occasional lunch trip. It sure is a beautiful place to visit. We usually go up on Teusday evening and stay til sunday during the rod runs, the time really flies when we're there having fun.
