A lot of good riding roads in all 4 states. The river road is great on both sides in both Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin with Illinois not as scenic because it doesn't hug the river as much. The road down to Dubuque will take you thru Balltown Ia where Brietbachs Country Dinning is located. This bar has the best buffet bar none and the food off the menu is fantastic.
I just went to the Nat museum last week on the way back from the Torque Fest and it's worth the stop. Hiway 64 will take you to Savannah Ill and it's a very biker friendly town. Go to Poopies if you like Do-rag bikers, The Iron Horse Social Club downtown is a real bar with a bunch of motorcycle collectibles, real antiques and good music. Blackjack Road is one option headed north but I prefer the road that runs above the Missisippi Padisades Park. You get on it just before the Sabula bridge and it takes you north above the river on some great twisties and sweepers. New Diggings Wisconsin is east of Dubuque and is a must stop. On one side of the county highway is Antons Bar and Grill and the other side is The New Digging General Store. Any week-end this place is packed with bikes, muscle cars, jeeps, anything goes. Sunday the New Diggs has bands.
This is just a little of what the area has to offer in riding, Have fun and ride the river.

Pikes Peak State Park in McGregor, Iowa is a nice stop for an excellent vista of the confluence of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers. No fees to visit the park. Bald Eagles frequent the bluffs below. Another spot we enjoyed in the area was a trip down to Dyersville to visit the Field of Dreams. If you like baseball you will probably like this spot. There’s also a Basilica in Dyersville that is impressive to see.
