Road Trip
Planning trip to mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee first week of July, what kind of road attire is appropriate at this time of year? How cold? Rain? Any suggestions helpful as this will be my first time there on a bike. Thanks.

Never can rule out rain,but the only place cold enough for a sleeve will be in the Great Smokey Mtn.National Park.It's the highes elevation in the area and it's between Gatlinburg and Cherokee.It is a great ride though.

If you plan to ride the Cherahola better bring a long sleeve shirt at least. Those mountains are great, but the weather can change as soon as you turn the next curve. I have seen it sunny on one side of the mountian, with wind, fog and rain on the other side. Have fun!

If you have like a Under Armour base layer and a rain coat over it will serve as a warm layer for the morning, you will soon peel it off...Rain is certainly a factor you won't avoid....pack smart and you will have room...

I live here.....agreed. Just plan for the rain. We have 12" above normal for this time of year. You can expect the highs in the upper 80's to low 90's The coldest you can expect is 63 or so in the early AM. Pictures are required to be posted......you knew that right?
