Too many roads and rides to see in just 4 days brother. You've got Beavers Bend area. And DO NOT MISS Honobia, OK. They have flat out the best burgers I have ever eaten. Look up Honobia Trading Post, website will have directions. Then you have Heavener Rune Stone State Park, Queen Wilhelmina... too much for just 4 days.
Also, hwy 123 up Mount Judea is an awesome road. It's one of my favorites.
I agree, did that road in June and want to go back the other direction first chance I get. Pig Trail is nice, but not as scenic as "Mt Judy"(spelled as pronounced).
the Talihina ride is good. I went both ways across it over the years. On July 5th, we went from ft smith, to Mena to Talimena( had lunch) and then up to Heavenor on the way back to ft smith. Not a bad ride at all..
did almost 250 miles round trip.
Planning ride Oct 11-14th. Want to experience the Ozarks with leaves changing colors.. Oct 11th head up from Central, TX area to Talihina and ride east across the Talimena Skway and stay in MENA. This should be about 450 mile ride..Or would it be better to stay in Talihina and then get up and ride the Skway in the morning and head north to Eureka Springs? Saturday up onto Hwy 123 and into Eureka Springs (about 250 miles or so if we head from Mena). Any specific route or recommendations, places to see. We have been to Eureka Springs before...
I'll be back in SE Oklahoma the week after next and will be riding the Talimena Byway for the second time. We have much taller mountains out here in AZ and we have our share of amazing rides, I just get tired of seeing desert all the time and really like riding in southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas.

I have ridden the byway and most of the Arkansas roads many times. They ARE sweet. Everything north of I-40 is awesome and most of them south of I-40 are pretty good also.
Pick one or two and go and you wont be disappointed.
Do keep in mind that certain areas can be VERY rural and getting gas can be tricky if you run low. Gas up often.
The wife and I will be staying in Eureka Springs mid October, and was thinking about riding the Talimena Byway, if this to long for a day trip from Eureka Springs?
If your in NW ar dont waste your time on the talimina.
lots of beter roads in AR,MO
14,9,16,23,7,123,
160,125,H
and many more. very scenic
