I always thought the to "Road to Hell" was going to work!

 

Thought this was the Highway to Hell.

 

HELL,MICHIGAN is a long way from PARADISE,MICHIGAN--been to both

 

Maybe 10 years ago I was riding through Oregon on the way to a BMW rally in July and saw on my map an interesting looking small road going through Hell's Canyon so I headed for it. Being a hot day I was looking forward to riding through a nice cool canyon. The approach was a nice twisty road but going down it started getting hot, VERY hot. Black tar was boiling out of the asphalt which cars smeared all over the road like a hot slime. As I suffered through that long canyon I realized how it must have gotten it's name. Thankfully I had a couple bottles of water along, I remember having finished them when I came to a little store/PO at the end.
