Road to Hell.....
Just thought I would post this ride for riders who want and seek out a challenging ride.
I would suggest you not do this ride in mid summer (heat) or mid to late afternoon the setting sun will burn you eyes out heading west.
Head out for Baker City; Oregon. I would suggest that you think twice about staying at the Bridge Street Inn, as the A/C only runs from 2pm to 8pm (no individual room a/c's.)
Your first and easiest ride should take you out to Snake River/Hell's Canyon. This is a ride for skilled riders and caution is required. The road is flat; not banked on the corners, lots of gravel on the corners and curves and its narrow so give yourself lots of space between the centerline and you because cars and trucks will take some of your lane. No place to stop and take pictures until you reach the Dam site but you will see some amazing scenery.
If you have survived that ride and seek even more of a challenge; leave Baker City and ride to La Grande. From La Grande head out to Enterprise. From Enterprise make sure your "head is in the game" and ride to Clarkston Washington. After 4 1/2 hours or riding some of the most steep, narrow and difficult curves on a well paved highway, stop and enjoy a great lunch in Clarkston, after all, after completing that ride you deserve it.
Enjoy!
