Looking at riding up to the area around the adarondikes this year for a long weekend with the wife. Never been there before. Any don't miss places in that area?
The Adirondack's are a riders dream, miles of scenic roads that have enough curves in them to satisfy everyone. The area is huge and much of it is as wilderness , over 9,000 SQ. MI. there are dozens of small motel/hotels throughout the area, many are mom and pop operations and only open in the spring-fall period. I have traveled the area quite a bit and find that the only time it is crowded and that reservations are needed is the summer peak season which runs from late June through Labor Day. We typically ride it in the late Spring or mid fall and usually make our reservations while on the road night to night depending on where we are at. Lake George is an interesting place with many places to stay, nice dining and entertaining bars with live music. Do some research and you will see how huge the place is. Truly a memorable place to visit and many thrilling roads to ride.
ride to lake placid and up whiteface mountain. on a clear day the views are awesome. the high peaks southeast of placid are a must! if near Long Lake look for rt 28n to a great stop at Sportys Iron Duke Saloon!
