It's a grubby, run down little town in the middle of nowhere. You can't buy gas without 2 or 3 people trying to bum money off you. There's a couple of gas stations, a McDonalds, Burger King and a motel or two. I just don't like to spend any time there. Due to its location, you almost have to stop there for gas if you're on a bike in NE AZ.
Oh yeah, one more thing - since it's on the Navajo Nation, they charge an additional tribal tax on top of state sales tax. Kayenta and Tuba City have some of the highest tax rates in the nation.

Yup. Those were the right prices. I'm just going to stay in Bluff. 85bux, there's a steakhouse/ bar across the street and they have a hot tub. Good reviews too.
Bluff is a nice little town, which is surprising when you consider its location. I rode through there last year and there are some nice looking places to eat. It used to be a run down dusty place, but it looks like people are investing some money and sprucing things up.
Interesting. We will be doing southern Utah right after Memorial Day coming up from ABQ thru Durango, Silverton & overnight in Ouray. Then next day on to Telluride and over Lizard's Head pass to Blanding for another overnight before we make our way thru Hanksville to Panguitch for a couple days doing Bryce Canyon and that area. We have a reservation at Lake Powell Resort on my wife's birthday. We will be making the trip down that day from Panquitch (the scenic route) via Zion NP. From there we will pass thru MV on our way to Mexican Hat for two nights so we can do Goosenecks etc. Then four corners before heading home.

Thoughts?
Sounds pretty good. I personally prefer Bluff to BLANDing, I think its name is appropriate. If you were to add the 25 miles to stay in Bluff rather than Blanding, the next day to Panguitch would be a bit longer as well. You could go from Bluff, up the Moqui Dugway, and then go over the top of Lake Powell on 95 to Hanksville, or detour on 276 and take the ferry boat over Lake Powell on your way to Hanksville, but that would also add a few miles. Which ever way you go, it's some fantastic riding up there. Enjoy it.
We've driven through Tuba probably a half dozen times in the last two years going back and forth to
other areas and there's a Navajo run Denny's at the intersection of 264 and 160 that's decent and a
few hundred yards to the East on 160 is a Chevron station that is kept up pretty well.
If you're going to do the Moki, you need to go to Youtube and take a look at the videos.
I think you may want to consider riding it from south-to-north since it ascends going north and plan on getting your bike dusty or muddy, depending on the weather.

This is what I'm doing. Also going few days before memorial day. I'll be leaving Bluff and riding to Panguitch. But I'm taking 261 north to the dugway, then onto 95, 24, 12

That's a really nice ride. I've taken both 95 and the 276 bypass with the ferry boat over Lake Powell. I really like both routes, and if I had to choose between them I guess I'd just base the decision on how much time I had.
