Page, AZ?
If you're near Panguitch, you're very close to Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park. After you turn off US-89 onto UT-12 the ride through Red Canyon on the way to Bryce is spectacular.

Yeah I'm not seeing much of anything in Panguitch. Some cheap hotels though. Works for me. I'll be coming through Bryce Canyon on 12. Looking forward to it.
We were forced to overnight there when we had a car breakdown. Tried to rent a car to go home,
but couldn't because even the national chains would only rent locally. Tried to fly back to Albuquerque
but it would have taken almost two days to hop-skip and jump through about 6 local flights to have
done so.
The "freshly made" bed in our room had three fake snakes hidden in it. We forced a room change but
before leaving piled all the bedding in the tub and turned on the shower to force them to change it.
Had to ride out to Flagstaff in the crammed front seat of a tow truck where we rented a car at the airport.
Anything else you'd like to know about Page?

Page is not a destination town. It's the town close to the destination which is Lake Powell, which is spectacular. Lake Powell Resort is very, very nice and right on the Marina which is a big plus. We will be able to walk the docks, look at the boats, talk to people, enjoy a coctail and a nice sunset. We aren't really into "night life" anymore but enjoy a nice lounge and a good restaurant. The resort offers both. Saying all this, even the resort isn't a destination on this trip for us, it's a nice place to stopover on a motorcycle trip. The resort will be the nicest over night place we will stay and is planned to coincide with the wife's BD.
As for Blanding being bland, when I close my eyes I can't tell if I'm in Caesar's Palace or Motel 6, that's all it is for us on this trip.
Panguitch has a bar, well really it's a restaurant that may have a band on the weekends. We will be there during the week. Probably serves 3.2 beer
I dunno, I can't really say as I have never been there before. It will be a base for us to see Bryce Canyon, the Escalante Staircase, Zion etc. At our age we motel as opposed to camping. :0) The days will be the focus of this trip, not the nights.
Never stayed in either Page or Kayenta. I would stay in Page just to get views of Lake Powell and if you had time, hike Antelope Canyon. Kayenta is just a wide spot in the road, but they have all of the essentials there.
I did not stay in, but I like both Mexican Hat and Bluff. I did eat at the San Juan Inn, in Mexican Hat, which is right on the San Juan River where the 163 crosses. Loved it. I don't know how nice the rooms are, but the people were very friendly and the location was amazing.
