I have stayed at Days End a few times in the past. It wasn't too loud, and conveniently close to town. Seemed priced slightly higher priced than others in the area. There is interstate road noise, so we also wore ear plugs at night.
WOW!
I didn't realize this campground was still open.
I stayed there in '89 & '90 but I haven't "camped" since.
A very good location.
Does the shuttle still do pickups and deliveries from there to downtown?
Stayed at Elk View campground in 2011. Very sedate, but sits on the interstate, so you'll have some traffic noise. Clean bath houses and they served reasonably priced food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In 2012 we stayed at the SPUR campground. It was nice and quiet. about 15-20 mile from Sturgis. Its about 5 miles off the interstate. They have decent showers and a bar that's open late if you want to drink. A few miles outside of Rapid city on the way to Sturgis.
Ive stayed at quite a few campgrounds. Broken spoke (never again) Elk view (it was ok) Creekside ( I liked that one) Sturgis view (I liked that one) Nemo (next year(got lost trying to find it))
