I think I will skip the South Datoka rally and head for Kentucky to support the charities there instead. What a bunch of money hungry idiots...

I understand protecting a brand that has been built over time, but it seems to me that "Little Sturgis" has built a brand of their own.
Sturgis, Ky., is a town of about 2,000 in the western part of the state. Its 16th Annual Little Sturgis Rally and Races for Charity is planned for July 17 - 20 at a county fairgrounds there. The Kentucky rally brings in about 20,000 people a year and has raised about $2 million for various area charities since it began.

I'm with ya, kemiha. What a crock 'o crap...the town's name is Sturgis fer cryin out loud. Hell, the legendary Sturgis, SD rally is turnin into more of a Disney type tourist attraction these days anyways. Was out there in '06 and it looked more like the giant RV rally my parents go to in Perry, GA.

I dont understand why both cant co-exist.
The wheelsmust befalling off the bus in SD if they are concerned with attendance being down due to a rallyin a different monthand 1000 miles away!

i think that in the last year or two the one in south dakota got it's name trade maked.so i would say that is where the problem is.
