I was hoping someone might have some experience with that area, and could offer some suggestions. My wife and I are planning to tent camp somewhere in the vicinity of Athens, Ohio for 3-4 days next month. I would need somewhere that I won't have to worry too much about my stuff growing legs. During the day, we'll be riding through the area to covered bridges.

 

You can go 20 miles west to Logan and there are cabins and campgrounds. You should go see OLD Mans cave and Conkles Hollow and Cantwell cliffs. We were down there last month for the first time and were surprised at all the sightseeing opportunities. Have Fun!

 

We're hoping to catch some of the sights as well, so I'll try to fit what I can.

I went to college in Athens a great town. Check out Lake Hope, they have a campground that is decent. The other option is Wayne National forest, it is open camping for free, it is a huge forest. But the ATV's and dirt bikes will be everywhere and there are no showers, bathrooms, etc. unless you stay at one of the private campground such as Camp Ohio, Williams or Begleys. Enjoy!
