I now have a 15 CVO Limited. Apparently it is supposed to have an Amp and upgraded speakers.
How do I know the amp is actually working??
And truthfully I don't know that it sounds any better that what is on the Regular Limited
Congrats on your new bike. Since your bike was factory built with the amp and upgraded speakers, I'm confident you have them and they are working (assuming your radio is working).
I think the best quality sound comes from the USB. Satellite isn't bad either, but it seems more compressed than my thumb drive. I'm pretty confident that the stereo on the CVO is the loudest and clearest stock radio available on a factory bike.
It does have an amp. You will see it if you ever have to take the fairing off. I have read and have been told that the speakers are an upgrade also. I think that they sound pretty decent on mine. If your amp is bad, you probably won't have any sound at least from one speaker. At least, that was my experience with a prior bike.

I was wondering the same thing on my '15. Since I didn't know, I wanted to make sure before I called Biketronics and ordered up some real bump
It should have came with the boom speakers.
This is one of the reasons I went with the street glide instead. 8 speakers sounds good. I use only the IPod or cd player.

Same thing here. Not impressed with "amp and upgrades speakers. Sounds no different reg. limited.
Is the amp & larger speakers a 2015 change? I have a 2014 CVO limited. I don't believe I have an amp or larger speakers. I do have the bass ports in the tourpak. I've bought the 14 as a leftover as the 15's were released. Naturally the salesman nodded and smiled when I asked about the amp.

I believe that the 14 CVO Limited has the larger amp and speakers.
All Harley audio is crap, even the boom stuff. Checkout soundz customz. He uses good quality stuff, focal speakers, arc audio etc. There are tons of other options out there as well.

The 2014 and 2015 CVO's have the same 300 watt amp and 6.5" upgraded speakers. While the system may not knock everyone's socks off, it is arguably the best stock radio on any motorcycle. In the garage, mine sounds incredible. It still sounds good at highway speeds, but any open air vehicle loses a lot of fidelity to wind and highway noises.
