I don't see the need for a bigger motor in a touring frame. The 110 will run well in excess of 100 mph. I would think that HD would have to do some additional crank work to insure reliability, but all this is just my opinion.
Guess we know now why no one else posted this. So where are the 120's??
Well maybe next year huh?
Lol, they can keep the 120 (doubt it will ever make the showroom though) the 110 slightly modified does more than sufficient for me. Besides that, I'm not trying to load up the wife-luggage and travel across country racing everyone. Just want to get there and enjoy the ride BUT be able to twist the throttle and get away from the blind bats in cages. So far the 110 does that well. IMHO.....

I strongly agree, the 110 is a great motor in terms of power and performance. With just a 2-1 Dragula and tune, I'm getting 97hp/116tq and 111tq at just 2500 rpm. The 110 also runs much cooler than my 103 did (2011 FLHTK)! With the stock 255 cams it more than adequate two up and loaded!
I do think Harley should have put the 120's in the CVO's this year simply because they've done so little in the 2016 line-up and it would have been a great sales motivator. It would not be enough for me to want to upgrade, because I'm satisfied with the current performance I have from the 110ci.

The 120ST is already EPA approved but not twin cooled. It is identical in all specs to the 120R but for the less radical cam and EPA approved tune. It puts 106 hp at the rear wheel.
One is going into my Freewheeler in two weeks.
I have a 120R in my 13 Street Bob with 135hp at the rear wheel.
There never is too much engine or HP ever. Look at the latest Bugatti and all the other monster motors that are showing up in cars and cycles. There used to be a small number of cars with 500hp now there are as many with over 1,000 hp.
There are several 200 to 300 HP motor cycles out now. The 143 inch S&$ is about 163 hp at the rear wheel.
I thiks it's Yamaha that has a tiny V8 powered cycle coming out with about 164 hp and if its tuned it should do 200 hp.
It won't stop until the folks quit buying them or the government stops the insanity.
There are 2 2016 Softail cruisers with 110's this year. So how can the CVO's just have a standard every day 110 this year and have some cruiser blow by them with their lighter bike?
I suspect that the 120ST will be in a CVO this year.

So, a quick scan of the hd site and I see no bikes with a 110 other than the CVO. Can you please provide a link to these two Softails with a 110?
dgdamore: You have to read the spec's section of the specific bike as the motor has nothing to do with the name.
Go back to the HD site and click on the Softail line. Then click on the Slim that looks like a military bike. Read the specs. It has the 110.
Then click on the completely blacked out model. It also has a 110.
Then go to the Softail forum on this site at look at the post about a new slim in the driveway. One dealer already sold him the military model with the 110.
Do your own search. I don't spoon feed anyone since my kids were old enough to do it for themselves.
