IMPORTANT UPDATE TO '07 FXDSE MIRROR SHAKE ISSUE
Hey gang:
Recently a few of us contributed on a thread here re the mirror shake issue on our '07 FXDSE's. One of the tips was to call the MOCO in Milwaukee and register the issue w/ tech services.
As the process continues, the MOCO finally cvalled back my local dealer citing multiple complaints from customers re this issue and acknowkedging that it is a valid issue.
Below is a cut and paste from my dealer of an e-mail note they sent me today. Bottom line is we were right and the MOCO will replace w/ equal to or lesser than value replacement mirrors. Any new mirrors exceeding the cost of the stock mirrors in on you. All labor, of course, included. Time to go mirror shopping...
I have now spoken with Tech services, they claim that there have been other customer complaints on the FXDSE mirrors shaking, and they have authorized me to replace the mirrors for you under the following conditions
a. Cannot be the OEM mirrors that came with the bike
b. if the new mirrors are more expensive, you will be responsible for any difference in cost between OEM and the mirrors you select! (FYI, mirrors on bike are $62.75 ea., so you have $125.50 to spend).
So look through your catalog and let me know what you want to do
