Default 110 Engine Lifters Question

I have a 2015 CVO Road Glide, been reading a lot of articles with the 100 engine having lifter problems. I know mine are loud when the engine is cold or extremely hot. Question is, what else do I need to look for??

Best advice, Aftermarket lifters, (S&S, GMR, WOODS, etc.) AV&V Beehive springs & bronze valve guides.

Might as well add aftermarket cams while your in there too.

Were the lifters on your Limited 103 noisy as well at startup or when hot? I've heard riders complain about noisy lifters on every Harley model for the past 20 years. Now some early 110's were prone to lifter failures but its not common inspite of what you hear. I've owned several 110's since 2007 (first year of the 110) and probably racked 150k miles altogether on those bikes without having a lifter going bad.

The above is great advice.

I'm a moderately high milage rider, about 24K a year. Since 09 my bikes have all been CVO's with the 110.

09 CVO Road Glide, lifter failure at 46K miles engine was rebuilt by HD. Bike had every required service and was not beat on.

12 CVO Road glide, compensator, Voltage regulator, and clutch master cylinder all replaced under warranty. Traded with 47K miles, noisy lifters but no failure.

13 CVO King, still have but engine was built by me. AV&V beehive valve springs, woods directional lifters and much more. Zero lifter issues, or noise.

15 CVO Road Glide ultra, 44K miles catastrophic lifter failure. Harley replaced the engine.

17 CVO Street Glide. No lifer noise, smoothes HD motor so far for me. 15K miles so far.

Most of the time on cold start ups, very noisy, but I believe that's normal until the oil is circulated. When the bike is hot, its noisy. I just changed primary fluids and used Amsoil Primary fluid, will see if that quiets it down. I have just read several posts on Facebook and the forum of the 2015 CVO's lifters failing.

Of course, the dealer does not want to acknowledge there is any problem

The fix for noisy lifters is to increase pushrod length. Non-adjustable pushrods are designed for a normal stack of top end components. Do you have adjustable or perfect fit pushrods? Search site for many posts suggesting additional length to quiet lifters.
