They loosen up,sometimes mine is super quite, sometimes on cold start up I get a lifter noise. Just about everyone I have had will do that. I keep a warranty and just ride it.

how much mileage? Is it still under warranty? Harley lifters are crap so would be surprised if they are on their way out.

had a 2016 cvo limited and at 10k miles had to have lifters and some other parts in top end replaced.got it back and all was good for a few thousand miles then about half way through our 4750 mile trip it started getting pretty noisy all the time.at 17k miles I traded it off and got a 2018 ultra limited with the m8.couldn't be happier

I had a "tick" lifter at the morning startup on my T/C 88.
Must not have been serious as the lifters made 77,000 miles until I sold the bike!

My '13 CVO 110 had a noise (valve train/tappet area) at about 2900 RPM's under moderate acceleration, but under harder throttle it quieted right down that no one could diagnose until I took the bike to a dealer that I've had engine work done with before.
The head mechanic said that he couldn't say for sure that new lifters would eliminate the noise but after hearing so many complains and comments of it being a "ticking time bomb", I had new lifters installed and I've not heard the noise since.

yes they do.

i put S&S premium lifters in my big bike. That engine is quiet. The little bike is completely stock and has a bit of a chatter. It’s my back up bike for when I am modding the big bike or doing it’s maintenance, I can still ride something. I’ll probably replace the lifters and pushrods this winter just for kicks.
