Default Lowering a 2019 FLHTKSE

Just finished a 4K break-in ride on my new 2019 Limited CVO. What a kick *** bike! Now need to get the riding position dialed in from stock to me. Working on replacement handlebars, but need some advice on lowering the rear end. On previous Limited's (non CVO) I've used the Profile Air Touring shocks, and that worked very well for me. I think the new CVO shocks are not air, but adjustable's, so I'm, not sure whether HD has a shorter product, or I need search other shock manufacturers, or is a lowering kit the way to go? Any experiences anyone has with lowering their late model CVO would be appreciated.

What comes on the ‘19 CVO Limited is a 13” hand adjustable premium rear shock. What comes on the ‘19 CVO SG is a ‘12” hand adjustable premium shock. On my ‘17 CVO Limited I bought a set of new tank offs from a ‘17 CVO SG. The same shock comes on all SGs and RGs. There are better options out there but they are a lot more expensive. I think I paid about $175 for them from another forum member. I’m about 215lbs and for 1 up Touring there were great even loaded, but when my wife went along the ride could be a little harsh. She doesn’t ride much and never any further than a couple hours so to me it really wasn’t a big deal.
Not sure what handlebars you are looking at but check out Wild Ones 10” Chubby Apes. They keep your hands just below the fairing and are extremely comfortable. Also at 10.5” all factory cables work.
Enjoy your new bike and good luck on the changes.

I’ll trade you my new 12” ones for your 13s?

Just use Tammarack lowering blocks on back and save on shocks unless you just have to have a better ride like the PA's give.

I've got Progressive 944s on the back and Progressive -1" front end.
Bike rides great even two up with full bags.
I had the rear shocks switched from my old bike to my new one when I bought the new bike. Love them to death.

i took my seat to alligator bob he lowered and made it more narrow . i think that makes more sense than 1000 on shocks and scraping the pegs on turns

OP

Do yourself a big favor that will not cost you anything.

Call George or DJ at Pro-Action and tell them what you have and what you are looking to achieve. They are very nice people, years of experience and will give you honest advice.

Worth the call.

I just installed these the other day on my non cvo ultra. I have a mustang seat that raised me up enough to where it was difficult to have both feet flat on the ground at stops. I thought about some 12" shocks but I don't have any complaints about the stock ones that are on it now. Those lowering blocks did the trick. If the OP just wants to sit a little lower and doesn't have any issues with the shocks on it now, these sure are a heck of a lot cheaper than new shocks. Quality is great and takes about 20 minutes to slap them on.
