Default CVO Paint

What's the story with 2019 CVO paint? Is it different? It appears to be more resistant to minor impacts and scratches. I now have >4k miles on the bike, it's been washed dozens of times, killed millions of bugs and I'm sure it's been pelted with more than a few stones but...there is 'narly a mark on the paint...not even any swirls.

It seems tougher and more resilient than my 2014 FLHTC. I'm impressed...

Ive noticed the same thing with my 2019 cvo. I was told by a dealer it is a house of color paint on the cvo bikes and ppg paint on the non cvo models.

The other thing I have noticed is doesn't scratch as easy when using products like Slick Mist or Top Coat F11

Paint is a PPG product on the CVO's.

I managed to scratch both saddle bags, the paint guy I used does paint repairs for a couple of HD dealers.

He walked right over to his PPG computer and brought up the correct product.

Its a PPG paint. Not any tougher or better than other harley paint. In less than 4000 miles I had a big stone chip on the front of the fairing and another on the left saddle bag on my 2019 CVO RG. Dealer has a good touch up guy, cant see either spot now.

No paint is impervious... one round from a .45 ACP proves that... but I'm still saying this CVO top coat and whatever hardner they used this year is doing a great job for me...

Shouldn't have any marks. 4K miles in 4 years. Garage Queen.

That “garage queen” response was inevitable from this forum. Nice looking bike, plongson.👍
