Nice. I want to order a tour pak for mine and probably will. Just trying to get over the sticker shock of a paint matched pak, mounting base, and lock.
I used the DK Customs relocation kit for the install. It sets the tank up about 3/4" or so up and back 1"-3" depending on preference.
DK Custom's relocation was the best one I could find for what I wanted. Among similar options, I noticed that DK's relocation kit included a cross member between the two side extension arms. By doing this, they provide the exact support of the underside of the tour pack as when it mounted directly to the tour pack mounting rack. The quality was exceptional and three extra inches give my wife all kinds of room behind me. She is super happy with it.
Hats off to DK Customs for a well made and well thought out product. As well, their service team was super professional and helpful when I checked status.
Nice, uuuhhhmmm what kind of animal is sleeping on your bike???????
I'll circle back later and add some pics of the seat without the pelt on it.
I'm addicted to the pelt. I ride in cold temperatures and it is nice and cozy. When I really appreciate it is when it's super hot. If it sits in the sun, the seat is never more than a bit warm. The hairs are actually little hollow tubes and the hairs does a great job of wicking away both heat and moisture. We took it on a ride through some pretty hot parts of the country with 90-95 degree days and it made it way more comfortable.
I've got a problem now though, and the pelt helps with that. Again, i'll circle back and show some pics of the gap the relocation kit leaves. I have a filler pad on order that is made to fill the gap.
Nice. I like my tour pack but dont use it very often. On a side note, is that mounting rack on the wall the $80 from Amazon?
Put a quick detach tour pak on my bike also. Problem is if i leave it on i use it for everything. I get lazy and just drop everything into it. I have it off now ad i like the look better.
