All I have ever done with mine is plug the battery tender in and cover it. Never put a fob in it or transport mode.

Wouldn't transport mode allow someone to steal it without setting off the alarm? I have security and alarm on mine and will store it I'm my heated garage with the security system active with both fobs in the house.

No need for fob in bags or transport mode for me. Stays on tender.

No difference for me if bike is sitting for 5 days or 5 months (other than the winterizing part).

Always a bummer putting bike away for the winter, but spring always is a treat when she comes outta hibernation!

What's the benefit of transport mode for storage? The security system is still armed (red light flashing), however the motion detector is disabled. The OP states the bike will be stored on a jack, which I assume will keep the bike motionless.

You need to put the bike on a tender as is so why would you ever put it in transport mode? Makes no sense to me! Just leave the FOB's in the house where you normally keep it.

I always just put it on a jack, cover it up, put on the battery tender and keep the fobs inside the house.

Maybe I didn't have to put it in transport mode? I just recall going out to the garage other times and want to move my bike, and accidently set the alarm off because I didn't have the fob on me. That being said, maybe if I just had the Fob on me when I put the bike on the jack and got if off the ground the alarm wouldn't have went off after I covered it and walked away? (I'm honestly not sure, never tried it.) I assumed if the bike was upright and the fob was not in range it would set the alarm off? Maybe it's just the motion of standing the bike up without the fob. I probably would have been fine thinking about it now. Either way... It's all good.

If I had to store it I think I would disconnect the battery and put a trickle charger on it and that would solve any alarm or drainage issues from the bike.

Gotcha... I think it will be just fine. I didn't disconnect anything. I do have a trickle charger on it. My concern was the bike being upright without the fob in range. I thought it would set off the alarm, but given the other replies I don't think it would have. I think all I would have had to do is have the fob on me, jack it up off the ground, cover it up, plug the trickle charge in, and good to go. I got it in transport mode now... but that won't
hurt anything in my case.

Yeah I’m sure it’s fine as long as you have the charger on it. I always disconnect the battery on my lawn mower for winter and I’m about to winterize my jet ski and I always disconnect that battery as well and put a trickle on it.
