Yeah I’m sure it’s fine as long as you have the charger on it. I always disconnect the battery on my lawn mower for winter and I’m about to winterize my jet ski and I always disconnect that battery as well and put a trickle on it.
It certainly won't hurt doing it the way you do. I have never disconnected the battery in any of my bikes when I store them, I just put the trickle charger on them. (Same with my Camaro). I was just concerned the alarm would go off with it in an upright position, with no fob in range. Never stored a bike with an alarm.

Sucks to have to store it at all I’m sure! I’m fortunate to be able to ride year round, hell I literally just got my jet ski out of the lake.

Yes, it does... But... that being said, I hate the heat more then I hate the cold. I don't mind winter, I just wish it wasn't as long. Jan - Feb is where it really starts to drag for me. I would be great if I could find somewhere it was 65 for a high and in the 40's at night. I could never live down south as I'd be in the AC for more time then I spend inside for winter here in WI. I'm uncomfortable with anything over 75 degrees. I'm a fit guy also, not over weight or anything, just a very warm blooded guy by nature. I do not like the heat.

That's why I bought the Camaro a couple years ago. As I get older I don't like the cold weather riding anymore. I used to ride as long as it was above 32 and there wasn't snow/ice on the roads. These days, I don't enjoy it with temps much under my age. ;-). As long as there is no salt on the roads, I can enjoy the Camaro as it has heat. I also can enjoy the Camaro in the summer when it's hot/humid. I still love to ride, but lately I've been gravitating toward the Camaro more and more often. I've really become a fair weather rider the last couple years. The wife and I have not done any touring in a few years now either. I've been thinking about selling the CVO Touring bike and getting something more like a Cafe Racer, as that is more the style riding i do these days. That being said, I'm just not prepared to give up the CVO yet. I may just get a 2nd bike for now.
