My brand new 2021 CVO Street Glide has bulging crash bars and you can not mount any highway pegs to them. See pic attached. Have any of you experienced this? I am thinking of having Harley send replacements. Your thoughts? They are both bulging in the same spot on both sides.
I have a 2019 CVO Road Glide with the same bars and they are pretty much identical to what you are showing. I think the tight radius of the mustache style bars creates a little bulge in the middle when it is bent. I use the Ciro 3D frame mounted highway pegs on both my bikes and you don't need the crash bar, plus their much stronger. If you already have pegs, you just need the kit to install to the frame...
you can get it on there....even without that little bulge, my HD brand highway pegs were a bitch to get on, my son who works in a machine shop was helping me put them on and he doubted whether they were made for the bike.....I just wrenched on that sumbitch until it wrapped and closed up....and as stated above...i've permanently marred the crash bar in that location....it will look like **** if i tried to move the pegs up or down on the bar....so basically you get one shot to get it into the right vertical position
