Default Handlebar adjustment

I was told that the Road Glides and maybe others have a pin that will not allow adjustment of handlebars without modification. Is this something they started in 2022? First I have heard of this.

The RG has had the pin since 2015 I think. I know for sure it was there in 2019 when I did the bars on my Mako.

Thanks. I have always been a batwing guy and looking at a Road Glide. What did you do with the pin?

2 options. Pull it out with vice grips or tap it flush with a punch. Easy fix. I tapped mine flush on my 16. Pulled it on the 19.

If you want to adjust the factory bars you can remove the pin. Factory 47 bars have a slot in them so you can install them with the pin in place and still have some adjustment. I am not sure if other aftermarket RG bars have a slot or you have to remove the pin.

Also the bars on a RGL or CVO RGL are taller than the ones on a CVO RG, RG or RGS from the factory. I changed the bars on my ‘19 and ‘22 CVO RG but the factory bars on my ‘20 RGL were very comfortable for me.

The Rushmore Road glides, starting in 2015 was first year for pin in handle bars. I had mine removed before delivery on my 15 CVORGU

Here is something you might consider: https://www.healthline.com/health/fi...in-exercises#1. This is a much cheaper option and may solve your upper back/neck issues.
