I must be missing something . WTF is the big deal with switching to key less in the first place. I have never used the key any way it does not hurt a thing being there.

You are in the CVO section. On the CVO models we can totally operate the bike, lock/unlock the bags, tour pack, etc without a key. I for one like that a LOT! Really sweet feature.
Now that I have two bikes again and the second is not a CVO it really makes me appreciate more.
mine has that 'safety' thing on the jiffy, so I simply put the jiffy down while in gear and clutch pulled, etc. kills the engine but radio keeps rockin.
