No way will HD put a131 as standard in CVOs. If they bump the cubes at all it will be a slight increase to 119-124, not a game changer.
CVOs are a premium bike built in limited numbers. In many cases selling for over MSRP with no trouble to happy to pay it customers.
If you love that CVO and can afford it buy what makes you happy and enjoy it.
They are selling every bike they are building now so no driving force for major modernization.
Add in the historical customer resistance to changes tempers the innovation drive.
The move toward all electric in the near future kills the economics to come out with a mono shock on the present V twin engines. There won't be enough model years for the pay back before EPA forces the change to the rev max engine. That move will require a new frame that most certainly will be a version of the current Pan Am frame. It's modular and any changes needed to support a "bagger" style will be an easy design and build change.
If you want big cubes... You can have the dealer install a 131 crate.. If you buy new and have it done by the dealer within 60 days, both the motor and bike will have full factory warranty.
I figure a nice Road Glide Special with a dealer installed 131 would be in the same price range as a CVO.. You'll have lots of 'Go' . The only thing missing would be the bling.
