Type of windshield, height of windshield are two factors that determine where the air flow hits you. Another thing to look at is wind deflectors that mount on the lower part of the fairing, these help deflect the air that comes up from under the fairing and around the tank. The seat you're using will effect where the wind hits you. I have a couple different seats and one sits me down pretty low and another sits me up about 2 inches and while my head is out in the wind more its actually smoother air...so its definitely a trade-off. A lot of it is trial and error finding what works for you since we're all a little different and you just have to do research and try to find a combo that works best for you.

The under the fairing wind deflectors seem to help for me.
