'07 110 engine: Oil leaks from head gaskets and base gaskets confirmed yesterday by dealer. They are ordering new gaskets for me. Also, my auto compression releases were turned "off" in the software, causing me hard starting. Related? I doubt it unless everyone's is off also.
Aproximately 5500 miles when leaks started. Have 6500 miles now. Will probably ride as-is until late fall so I don't lose riding time. I am supposedly the 1st with leaks at my dealership, but I also have the "oldest" 110 engine with the most miles.
Stay tuned!
There have been "issues" with the ACR's as well, but that is not related to the head gasket leak. The 07A gasket is having problems as well, but there is a "rumor" that a B version gasket is in the works. Please be sure they check the rear jug/cylinder liner as well. Many I know are getting the cylinder replaced along with the gaskets. The 07A gasket is a bit different, so you might want to insist they change both front and rear while it's in the shop...also, have them check your rocker box clearances...some have the tops of the springs hitting the inside of the covers...it's obvious when they have the cover off.
There is a B gasket now. Mine is in for the second set of cylinders and all the stuff that goes with it. I have a poll going over on the CVO forum under Twin Cam. Looks like about 2/3 of those with 110 motors have had leaks. That may grow since most don't get the leaks until 5-10k miles. I already have over 30k miles on my 07 but I know a lot of owners just don't ride much. I bet a lot of CVO owners won't even get the leak before the two year facory warranty expires. These motors do have a problem.
I've got about 560 miles on my FLHRSE4 and other than some cosmetic defects, speedometer lcd digits not lighting up correctly, and the engine light doesn't work exactly as the book describes or like other Harleys, (dealer says they will fix) I must say that this is a very smooth shifting, no leaks, no noise (I wear a full face), sneaky fast ride.

Looks good
It's a tank compared to my Fatboy
Handles nimbly, once rolling, for such a heavy bike
110 engine, six speed, cruise controland air suspension makes this a great interstate cruiser
6 gallon tank (looks good)
Throttle by wire (ditto)
ABS
New tie rod in front of engine (wondering if that will help wallowing in corners I've read about)
Granite colored engine matches the other colors on my bike.
Wheels, rotors, and calipers are eyecatchers

Seat is kinda hard but my butt seems to be toughening up

Engine heat - not an issue for me but if it was a commuter with a lot of stoplights, I could see where your right thigh could get toasty.
I have a 07 FXDSE and zero problems. It did seem to run hot until I put the SERT and pipes on and now it runs much cooler. I work with 2 other guys that have them, zero oil leaks.
My 07 FXDSE runs great, no overheat, no leaks, and I ride the **** outta it. Hard power shifts at will, redline pulls, the whole deal......I did install Bigshots on it and used a SERT to richen it up some, but nuttin else. Rides very nicely. Only complaint would be the front end dances pretty hard sometimes, but thats the way it is with the wide glide fronts with rake. I got around 3500 on it, have constantly checked it over top to bottom in the shop.....not one drop of anything. Oh yeah, the tranny is quiet too, just needs a lower gear set or motor sprocket, the sixth is a little too high.

Mrmo...3500 miles is generally not enough to know if you'll have the leaky rear head gasket, no matter how hard you ride. Hopefully, you will have no problems. From time to time, take an old white T or paper towel and run it between the fins just under the rear exhaust flange. Most of the leaks start out as "weeps" that are difficult to see on black motors.
The front end of HD's dance around because they all have crap for front suspension...it does not have to be that way, but it will cost a few hundred dollars to fix it right.
I am waiting for delivery of the copper & black 105th anniversary model of the FLHRSE4 at my local HD dealer. I have heard there is a 4 week delay because of a vender problem. Does anyone out there know what part they are waiting on.
I too am waiting on the anniversery colors 08 SERK. Mine is not scheduled to hit the dealer until sometime between December to March. Have you seen the actual SE version of the anniversery colors? I have not, I have not even seen a real good picture. I beleive that the copper is darker and more metel flake, and the black is softer (brown tones) than the copper and black on the regular anniversery additions. When is yours due?

You have to look at all the 07 110 out there. there is more than 12000 made ( I'm not sure about the exact number) you are hearing problems from a handful of people, probably less then 1%. I know everyone with a 110 engine is not a member of this forum so the % may be higher or lower if there are more then my guess of 12000. What I'm trying to say is the problem is out there but in small numbers. I have about 4500 miles on mine with no problem of oil leak or overheating.
Firemann44 do you own a 110? If you do. I was just wondering if you have anything oozing on the rear cylinder between head and top of barrole? That is were you will notice the first indication of any issue in the future. If you dont have the 110ci. the reason why the majorrity of the 110ci. leaks is because when they bored the case to match the barroles its so thin its bound to leak.
