Is this correct? back fire
Guys/ Gals I put a set of Rush slip on mufflers on my 08 Springer. They sound much better than the factory pipes. My question is I did not do anything to the computer and the bike runs fine. It idles and does not miss on acceleration but when I let off the gas the pipes do backfire some. Its not a loud backfire I just think its the compression from the engine. Is this normal ?

I would not put any type of exhaust mods on a 110 motor without adding the fuel management system. These motors run extremely hot to start with and need the fuel/air ratio modified IMO.
I am not sure if the SERT is available for the 08 models yet?

The problem I see here is the air cleaner on a S.E. bike is a hi-flow,with that air cleaner you have to run a tuner of some sort to accomadate for the added air flow.

I called the dealer and they have a SERT avaible for my bike. I guess I will get it and have the bike put on the dyno. I am second guessing myself for doing this becuase I am reading all kinds of e mails about voiding my engine warranty. And from the sounds of some other guys problems with these 110 engines I am geeting scared. I guess if the SERT makes the engine run cooler thats one good thing.

You also do not have to dyno the bike. If you are using "common" pipes they probably have a download for your application. You couldget a few more hp's out of a dyno but the bike should run fine with a canned download.
