is that actual 10.5 compression or just what harley claims it will be?...a lot of times the harley kits end up being a little lower than they claim...another consideration is do you ride with a passenger, live at sea level or in the mountains, do you live in a very hot climate, do you plan on using the bike for parade duty, what is the quality of gas in your area, are you comfortable with high corrected compression?...I would choose a cam depending on all these factors...personally I wouldn't go any bigger than se251 on a heavy touring bike, and I might use something shorter like h-q 575 or t-man 590, but these last 2 may make compression a little high...is the motor already built?...if not you can have the builder set compression to complement the cam and the corrected compression that you're comfortable with

Skyhook, thank's for answering. I live in Minnesota, the bike is a SE 08 Road King. The engine is built up with the new CNC MVA heads. The SE 10.5 pistons with KURYAKYN TC 46 D cams, DYNO RUN is not good. From 2600 to 5200 101#'s of torque 106 HP @ 5500 RPM, it was 112#'s of torque @3000 RPM and 96 HP. Why do you think it is not working. Will the 251 CAM give torque @ low RPM without detonation?

the cam is too big for sure...I see you're running wild thing cams and are in minnesota...do you know about world class tuning in watertown, mn?...it's run by mike roland, the man who designed your cams

the 251 cam will really bring back the torque to your motor...if you install those cams and have it tuned by a pro, it shouldn't ping

Skyhook, Thanks for your help. I have talked to Mike Roland at length, smart man. I can,t get the bike to his shop. Mike recommended the 46d cam. The dealer that did the work likes s&s 585. What do think will work the best? the 585 251 or red shift 577 . Thanks Much, FlyingH1

I put SE 253 cams in my 07 SE Ultra when I went with the 10.5:1 Pistons. I am very happy with the performance. Smooth performance throughout the band and really pulls hard over 2800 rpm. I have true duals, race tuner and had the new stock SE heads flowed when HD replaced them. Good Luck

This is the setup that I went with, and it is producing 120.5 rear wheel horse power at 3200rpm, and 126 pounds feet of torque at 2800 rpm.
