Default Exhaust for 2008 Screaming Eagle Ultra

I want a exhaust that improves performance and sounds good. Not just loud. I have talked to many mechanics concerning true dual and Harleys style. Some have said true duals loose power and lower rpm. I don't need that as I ride double most of the time. I have considered 2 into one but can't decide.
Has anyone done it and what do you think? What about Power Commander vs Race Tuner?

I have just taken delivery of an 09 SE Ultra and had Monster Ovals and fitted with the HD RT. Still running it in but it feels good and sounds great to me.

I have a 2008 SE Ultra and have 10,000 miles with the HD race tuner (prior version) and Super Trapp slip-ons. Sounds great but not deafening and I'm pleased with the performance.

I had a D&D 2-1 with standard baffle. I got lots of comments on the sound of these pipes. They were not real loud around town unless you jumped into the throttle. Then they gave a high performance growl both revving and under quick deceleration. They don't sound typical Harley. They sound much more performance oriented in my opinion. And they let you feel it strongly when that 103 came into the cams at about 3200 rpm. But the bike would pull smoothly from about 1800 rpm for a pass then seriously awaken at 3300 up. They aren't too loud to comfortable intercom speech with a passenger or listening to the stereo. The only times they got loud enough to set off the intercom vox was hard acceleration or long steady acceleration up a steep grade to maintain 70mph or more. The long steeper grade runs would pop the Vox in and out about 40% on them. I'm talking a Montana mountain not your average hill country. They mounted up easy, looked good, and sounded great. But they don't sound average Harley on acceleration. Everyone seemed to love the 103 idle they produced. Kind of a deep cam lope sound to it, but definitely not potato-potato.

Fullsac makes a replacement baffle for our CVO mufflers that come in sizes from 1.75 to 2.25, for a little over $100.00 they sound awesome install easily and maintain the OEM look of your CVO, I tour a lot and IMHO the 1.75's are perfect, I have a set of 2 inchers that install in minutes if I want louder.

I too, have a 2008 SEUC. I installed the V&H Monster Ovals -- Great Sound in my opinion. Very deep. Not bad at idle or when on it, but a bit of a bass resonance in the 25 to 27K RPM range. Added SE A/C and tuned with TTS MasterTune. No dyno numbers but seat of pants says good. Pulls nicely from as low as 2K in 4th and 5th.
