I got out this morning and it was 12 degrees. I threw on long johns, leather chaps, heated gloves and jacket liner. Was nice and toasty for the ride, though my glasses keep fogging up. I use a half helmet and don't see getting another helmet in the near future. I have tried using anti fog spray on the glasses but it is so inconsistent. Any suggestions out there folks?????????????
Thanks,
Phil

Default Staying Warm

Always keep cotton away from your skin. Any synthetic base layer (Patagonia is my preferred) and anything to block the wind around tour neck. Blood around the neck gets pumped directly to the brain so keep the neck covered and insulated. Always heated gloves, I rewired my heated gloves plug with an end which will fit on my battery charging pigtale (trailer plug section of any hardware store) so they are exceptionally easy to hook-up without any special modification of the bike. For us it has always been leather, along with jacket, chaps, gloves, keep in mind not too tight. We learned a long time ago how to dress for cooler weather because we prefer that kind if riding.

I remember riding years looking at gerbings at the international bike show thinking that whoa, way to much money. After a 1000 or so in jackets, vests, underware, etc. I finally bought a jacket liner. My first ride was like, omg why didnt I pull the trigger years ago. I find the room to carry them. They are the first thing packed when I take a trip even in the summer.
